The construction of roads and highways are decisive elements for the sustainable development of any country and we are proud to say that the MagaNeguma Road Construction Equipment Company has so far successfully completed 33% of the total road development projects in Sri Lanka thus making a significant contribution towards national development and winning over the hearts and minds of the Sri Lankan people.
‘MagaNeguma’ meaning ‘Road Development’ is an inspirational and visionary concept, presented by H.E. President Mahinda Rajapaksain 2004 during his tenure as the Hon. Prime Minister as well as the Minister of Highways.
It is in this backdrop that the MagaNeguma Construction Equipment Company (Pvt) Ltd. was established in the year 2004. The Company is a 100% Sri Lankan Government owned entity which greatly fulfills the growing need for road development in Sri Lanka. Within just 8 years, the MNRCE has grown to be a front runner in its area of operation playing a pivotal role in Sri Lanka’s rapid infrastructural development.
Up to now, the MagaNeguma Construction Equipment Company has successfully completed 33% of the total road development projects in Sri Lanka and is actively involved in expanding its services overseas. The Company has so far completed over 840 km of roads while another 386 km is currently under construction.
The MNRCE boasts of a nearly 700 strong staff cadre handling vital roles in the Company. Each employee is highly skilled and qualified in the task assigned to them and the usage of the most modern technology has made their tasks more efficient and effective.
The importance of MagaNeguma in Sri Lanka’s journey towards national development is clearly evident as it has been specifically mentioned in H.E President’s election manifestos in 2005 (MahindaChinthanaya) and in 2010 (MahindaChinthanaIdiriDakma).
