Job Description

  • Supervise & coordinate the engineering activities during the shift to ensure equipment and services are available for the efficient control/usage of the hotel.
  • Achieve agreed plant and equipment reliability levels by ensuring maintenance programs confirm to Company/Hotel and to manufacturer's standards.
  • Identify and implement training programs to ensure labour productivity meets or exceeds agreed
  • Ensure that a safe and healthy work environment exists, by adhering to company health, safety and environment policies, to achieve full compliance with the relevant legislation.
  • Maintain harmonious industrial relations by encouraging employee participation and management ownership through a regular consultative approach.
  • Minimize Labour costs associated with maintenance activities by effective control and utilization of labour resources.
  • Identify, recommend and implement improved maintenance systems and procedures in accordance with the company total quality management principles.
  • Effective use of Building Management System.
  • Prepare management reports detailing labour statistics, equipment parameters and availability and usage, man hours worked and productivity levels in a timely manner.

Position Requirements

  • Degree / Diploma / (Mechanical / Electrical or Ac / Ref) minimum 3 years duration.
  • Extensive Hotel / Industry maintenance experience with a minimum 5 years at supervisory level.
  • Experience in all facets of star class hotel maintenance equipment and activities.
  • Proven abilities in people management skills.
  • Knowledge of Safety and Environmental requirements.
  • Knowledge of hotel layout and procedures.
  • Awareness of manufacturers specification.
  • Awareness of the location regular maintenance requirement.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Knowledge in safety and environment standards.
  • Literacy and numeracy to complete standards forms.
  • Fitness levels to the medical standard.
